Britax Roundabout Convertible Car Seat

The Britax Roundabout Car Seat is designed to suit infants in rear facing position as well as older babies up to 40 pounds in front facing position. As a parent who wants nothing less than the safest and most comfortable seat for your little one, this is a seat worth checking into. Not only does it come in a wide array of stylish fabrics including denim, but it is one of the few seats on the market today that actually goes above and beyond the legal requirements for car seat safety.

While safety is of course the first and most important consideration when selecting a car seat, comfort is also very important. If a child is not comfortable, they are going to squirm and cry every time you put them in it. That not only rattles your nerves and makes you want to avoid leaving the house, but it slows you down. I don't have much time to spare with a seat that is not properly padded, and you probably do not either.

The Roundabout seat is made of two types of foam. One is designed for comfort while the other is designed to add an extra layer of protection in case of an accident. It also includes a belly pad which serves as a safety and comfort device.

In terms of safety, you simply cannot go wrong with this seat. It meets all of the federal rules for baby seat safety, and actually exceeds them in some areas. It all starts with the unique installation process, which features the LATCH method. This simply means you put it in using latches and tethers instead of a seatbelt. It will still function with regular seat belts as well, but the LATCH method is so fast that you will want to use it if possible.

The harness is a three point system which can be adjusted to three different heights. This ensures that your baby stays safe at all ages as you simply adjust to the appropriate position as they grow. Their harness system is called HUGS, harness ultra guard system, and far exceeds the current federal standards for car seat operation.

On a parent level, there are some very nice perks to using this seat over others on the market. First, the harness straps do not get twisted and tangled up, which is a huge time waster with most other seats. It is also much easier to loosen the straps as your child grows, since all you have to do is push a button and pull. Just with those two unique features alone, you will save tons of time that you would otherwise spend dealing with straps and too-tight buckles.

Another perk is that the fabric is extremely soft and easily comes off for cleaning, which is essential for diaper accidents and snacks on the go.

The only real downsides are small points which are easily overcome with the extra safety and comfort features. For instance, the seatbelt can be a little rough unless you purchase your own covers to go over them. If you like to use neck pillows to go behind your baby's head, be aware they are not going to fit with the unique shape of the Britax Roundabout Car Seat.
